“Katrina” Order will expire on January 25, 2025
The temporary disaster relief order is set to expire on January 25, 2025. If attorneys wish to continue providing pro bono legal services in North Carolina after January 25, 2025, they must apply for pro bono practice by out-of-state lawyer licensure under North Carolina Rule .0905. Petitions are due to the North Carolina State Bar by January 10, 2025, to ensure uninterrupted service to disaster relief clients.
Petitions and supporting documentation must be submitted to the NC State Bar by January 10, 2025, to avoid any lapse in the ability to provide pro bono legal services.
